How To Install Hexagonal Wire Netting

Installing hexagonal wire netting involves several steps to ensure that the netting is securely attached and serves its intended purpose. Here's a general guide to help you through the installation process:

Materials Needed:

Hexagonal wire netting

Posts (wooden or metal)

Fence staples or wire ties

Wire cutters

Gloves

Pliers

Post hole digger (if using wooden posts)

Installation Steps:

Plan and Prepare:

Determine the area you want to enclose and calculate the amount of hexagonal wire netting and posts you'll need.
Clear the area of any debris, rocks, or obstacles that could obstruct the installation.

Install Posts:

Decide on the placement of your corner and end posts. Corner posts should be set at each corner of the enclosure, and end posts at intervals along the fence line.
If using wooden posts, dig holes for the corner and end posts using a post hole digger. The depth of the holes will depend on the height of the posts and the desired stability of the fence.
Insert the posts into the holes and fill them with concrete or soil to secure them in place. Ensure the posts are straight and level.

Unroll and Attach Wire Netting:

Start unrolling the hexagonal wire netting along one side of the fence line, starting from a corner post.
Use fence staples or wire ties to attach the netting to the posts. Begin by securing the top edge of the netting to the post.
Work your way down, attaching the netting to the posts at regular intervals. For added stability, attach the netting to every vertical post with staples or wire ties.

Maintain Tension:

As you unroll the netting and attach it, make sure to maintain tension in the wire to prevent sagging. Tension can be maintained by pulling the netting taut while attaching it to the posts.

Overlap and Secure:

If your enclosure requires multiple rolls of hexagonal wire netting, overlap the edges of adjacent rolls by a few inches. This helps prevent gaps that animals could exploit.
Use pliers to bend the ends of the wire netting at the overlaps, securing them together.

Corner Posts and Gates:

For corner posts, make sure the netting is properly stretched and secured to create sharp corners.
If you plan to install a gate, leave an opening in the netting for the gate's frame. Attach the netting securely to the gate frame.

Trim Excess:

Once the netting is attached to all the posts, use wire cutters to trim any excess wire that extends beyond the posts.

Inspect and Test:

Go around the enclosure and inspect the netting for any loose areas or gaps. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure the netting is securely attached.

Garden protection

Remember, the specific installation process may vary depending on factors such as the terrain, the type of posts you're using, and the purpose of the enclosure. Always prioritize safety during installation, and wear gloves to protect your hands from sharp edges of the wire netting. If you're unsure about any aspect of the installation, consider seeking guidance from a professional or experienced installer.
