Cross the rebar: When two or more rebar pieces intersect or overlap, the double loop bar tie is used to secure them. Take a length of tie wire, usually made of steel, and place it across the intersection of the rebar.
Form the first loop: Twist one end of the wire around one of the rebar bars, creating the first loop. This loop should be tight to prevent the rebar from moving.
Form the second loop: Twist the other end of the wire around the second rebar, creating a second loop. This loop effectively binds the two rebar pieces together.
Secure the tie: Twist the ends of the wire together tightly and cut off any excess wire. This ensures a strong connection and prevents the rebar from shifting during concrete placement.
